My view is that official, well-managed zoos play an important role in today's society considering the general threat to many species of wildlife around the world. It is critical that we educate young generations about animals and wildlife and endangered species, just as we need to dedicate more resources to hunt down and stop rogue poachers while increasing the areas of national parks and protected nature reserves around the world.
I began this series in 2005 and it is still 'work in progress' today (2011) as I continue to visit the zoo and photograph its inhabitants with regular intervals.
"At the Zoo" prints are available for purchase in a limited edition of 30.
Print size: 8 x 12" (20 x 30cm) each $200
Print size: 10 x 12.5" (25 x 32cm) each $200
Prices are for unmatted and unframed prints in Australian Dollars (AUD$). Each print includes sufficient white border for easier framing.
Each photograph is signed and numbered on the front and titled au verso.
